Water in the beer brewing process can be the brewer’s best friend or their worst night mare. Some of the world’s most famous breweries are built near or on their primary source of water and is the one thing that gives their beer the truly unique flavor that could never be duplicated. For example German lagers are brewed with soft water that gives them this smooth mouth feel for a clean refreshing pale lager. Traditional English beers are brewed with super hard water that lend it self to a bold and sometimes hoppy beer.

Now a day we have the chemistry to test the water we brew with and adjust it according to the style we are after. If water is not treated correctly it can completely ruin the flavor of the beer.
