Old Chub hits hard, especially because I’m not used to getting such dark, strong malty flavor out of a can. There is something about cracking open a beer from a can that tells your body to expect the tasteless BMC lagers of old.  When you open a can and this dark, luscious, malty 8.8% beer comes forth, it can be a bit of surprise to the psyche. But what a welcome surprise it is!

Old Chub is a perfect example of a scotch ale. Dark, strong and malty it’s a damn good beer! Old Chub has won a number of awards, such as:

Gold Medal – 2010
World Beer Championships

Top-Rated Scottish Ale

World’s Second-Best
Canned Beer

Details Magazine

Gold Medal – 2008
World Beer Championships

You can’t really argue with such great reviews!

I suggest you wrap your hand around this can as soon as you can!
